High-res Zarouhie Abdalian: Regarding Inspection (2012)
Regarding Inspection proposes an activity that is both about viewing and also emphasizes the figure of the viewer in the space of the museum. Here, devoid of objects or advertisement, the viewer in the act of viewing is what is on display. The work responds to the decidedly more contemporary process of valorization under which the distinctions between consumer and producer are collapsed, or in which cultural capital is generated by the mere endorsements of a privileged spectator.
